Sai Criticizes Brynn’s “Double Standards” in Shocking Fourth Wall Break
A recent glimpse into a group text between the women of The Real Housewives of New York City has unveiled a more volatile side to Brynn Whitfield. The drama unfolded when Sai De Silva, backed by Bravo’s screenshots, brought the receipts during a coffee chat with Jenna Lyons in Season 15, Episode 2. The two fashionistas revisited the events of the season premiere, where Sai accused Brynn of “constantly causing havoc” within the group, including allegedly telling Jenna that Sai “hated” her.
Although Sai had apologized to Jenna during Episode 1, her conflict with Brynn remained unresolved, highlighted by a pointed message Brynn had sent to the group. This tension was especially palpable when Sai mentioned the text, noting that she had previously tried to extend an olive branch to Brynn, but with no success.
“It’s like, I get so much sh-t for being mean, but we’ve all seen Brynn do the same sh-t,” Sai confided to Jenna. “The difference is, she doesn’t do this sh-t on camera.”
Sai then highlighted what she saw as a “double standard” regarding Brynn’s behavior, pointing specifically to the group text Brynn had sent.
What Did Brynn Whitfield’s Message Say?
In the message, Brynn wrote, “I don’t scream or yell; I won’t bash you in the press. No, no, not my style. I’m far, far too elegant and smart for that… Someone who tried to f-ck with me once called me carbon monoxide. Invisible, odorless, and sucks the very life out of you before you even have the chance to realize it.”
Sai wasn’t impressed by the comparison, but Jenna offered a different perspective, suggesting that Brynn likely wasn’t seeking a response from the group.
“However, yelling at someone over text is not my preferred mode of communication,” Jenna later confided to producers.
Understanding the Tension Between Sai and Brynn
Jenna noted that both Sai and Brynn are “guarded” individuals who have had to fight hard for what they’ve achieved in life. This common trait, however, has led to a clash between the two, with Sai struggling to show her softer side—something she herself acknowledged. Yet, Sai admitted it was challenging when Brynn wouldn’t meet her halfway.
“If you want to find common ground with her, the only way is through softness, tenderness, and vulnerability,” Jenna advised, emphasizing that Brynn might not respond well if Sai continued with a defensive approach.
“Why should I be soft with someone who is actually doing the hurting to me?” Sai retorted.
Can Sai and Brynn Mend Their Relationship?
As of now, there’s little indication that the rift between Sai and Brynn is healing, but that doesn’t mean there isn’t hope for reconciliation later in the season.
In the latest episode, Sai continued to voice her frustrations with Brynn during a shopping outing with Ubah Hassan.
“It’s like she wants everybody else to fight, but only be friends with her,” Sai remarked.
Of course, much like carbon monoxide, Brynn’s presence isn’t always easy to handle. But when it comes to Brynn and her fellow Housewives, only time will tell if they can rebuild their friendships.
