Teddi Mellencamp Finds It ‘Tough to Watch’ Alexis Bellino on ‘RHOC,’ Slams John Janssen’s Fame Claims as ‘bulls—t’

Teddi Mellencamp recently shared her unfiltered thoughts on Alexis Bellino’s return to The Real Housewives of Orange County.

“But it’s a big no for me on Alexis. It’s a big no,” the Two Ts in a Pod podcast co-host told Page Six’s Virtual Reali-Tea while promoting her upcoming Twotscon event alongside her co-host, Tamra Judge.

At 43, Mellencamp finds it “hard to watch” Bellino, 47, as she continues to passionately defend her now-fiancé, John Janssen, against negative claims made by his ex, Shannon Beador.

“Her fighting John’s battles is disturbing to me,” Mellencamp remarked, referring to Bellino’s efforts to counter accusations of body-shaming Beador, “coaching” her for Housewives scenes, and allegedly using Beador for financial gain.

The “Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” alum says it’s “hard to watch” Bellino on the show as the latter fights battles for now-fiancé John Janssen.

Throughout the current season, Bellino has fiercely denied these allegations, standing up for Janssen, who has also dismissed them. Despite his involvement in the show, Janssen claims to prefer a private life, distancing himself from the fame that comes with being on Bravo.

Mellencamp, however, isn’t convinced. “I think that John saying he doesn’t want to be in the limelight or famous or wants to be kept out of it or whatever it may be, I think is complete and utter bulls—t,” the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills alum told Virtual Reali-Tea.

Mellencamp is also calling “bulls–t” on Janssen’s assertions that he isn’t interested in the fame that comes with appearing on a Bravo show.

Janssen participated in a “RHOC” confessional with Bellino that fans didn’t seem to be very fond of.

“If you don’t want to be a part of something, you’re not a part of it… You don’t want to be famous? Don’t date two girls in the public eye.”

Tamra Judge, 57, a friend of both Bellino and Janssen, added her perspective, noting that it rarely resonates well with viewers when a partner gets involved in Housewives drama. Janssen recently appeared alongside Bellino in a confessional, stirring up strong reactions from the fandom.

“As a man on any ‘Housewives’ show, when you are trying to get your point across and [filming] confessionals, it never lands right,” said Judge, whose husband, Eddie Judge, is known for steering clear of the cast’s conflicts.

“My advice to any man is just be quiet,” she continued. “Take notes from Eddie. He does not want to get involved; he wants to diffuse the situation, walk out.”

Janssen previously dated “RHOC” mainstay Shannon Beador, a new onscreen adversary for Bellino.

Janssen and Bellino, seen here at Page Six’s New York City studio, announced their engagement in August.

While Mellencamp critiques Bellino’s behavior, Judge insists that the “friend of” the cast has been “sweet, kind, and good” to her.

“The whole John of it all is, I think, where it gets kind of messy. It’s really a no-win situation. Alexis came in, and there’s no way that she could win. She’s dating Shannon’s ex-boyfriend,” she admitted.

“Obviously, [Mellencamp is] looking at it as a viewer. I know Alexis in a different manner.”

Even if Mellencamp isn’t a fan of Bellino, Judge insists that the “friend of” the cast is “sweet, kind and good” to her.

The “RHOC” Season 18 narrative has suggested that Bellino only ever talks about her conflict with Beador over Janssen.

Mellencamp believes, however, that there is a way for Bellino to change public perception, as she struggles to win over the majority of RHOC fans in Season 18. The storyline often focuses on her conflict with Beador regarding Janssen.

“She could win by saying, ‘Shannon, I’m really sorry. I can imagine how bad this is freaking hurting you,’” Mellencamp suggested.

Reflecting on Bellino’s return to the show after years away, Mellencamp admitted she didn’t expect Alexis’ likability to become a question.

Mellencamp encourages Bellino to apologize to Beador.

The former Bravolebrity tells “Virtual Reali-Tea” that she enjoyed hanging out with Bellino before the latter rejoined “RHOC.”

“We all went to a concert together. Alexis was fun, she was self-deprecating, I enjoyed her,” she said of their time together before Bellino’s recent RHOC appearances.

“So I’m not trying to dog her out, but what I’m watching is a different Alexis and [she’s] so unable to see her own self for her flaws or for the things that she’s doing,” Mellencamp added. “That’s hard for me to watch.”

Mellencamp and Judge plan to dive into more reality TV drama at Twotscon, a live event set to take place at the iHeartRadio Theater in Los Angeles on November 1.

Judge and Mellencamp chatted with us while promoting their first-ever Twotscon.

They will be joined by Real Housewives stars Heather Dubrow, Dolores Catania, Cynthia Bailey, and Marysol Patton, who will share their hottest takes on the latest Housewives headlines.

“When it was announced that there was not going to be a BravoCon this year, we were like, ‘Hold on. We want to give everybody a little piece of it because there are so many people that look forward to BravoCon every single year because they get a little bit of all the franchises,’” Tamra explained.

“So we were like, ‘This is a no-brainer for us.’”
