Kelly Dodd Unveils the Real Reason Andy Cohen Fired Her, Shares Shocking Text from Former Boss, and Reacts to Leah McSweeney & Brandi Glanville’s Accusations Against Andy and Bravo
Former RHOC star Kelly Dodd recently shared her thoughts on Andy Cohen, her departure from the show, and the lawsuits brought against the network by Brandi Glanville and Leah McSweeney.
Kelly, who joined The Real Housewives of Orange County in season 11, was let go in 2021 after making controversial comments about the COVID-19 pandemic and facing multiple accusations of racism. The calls for her dismissal from fans and other Housewives had been growing for about a year before Bravo made the decision to part ways with her.
Despite no longer being on the show, Kelly, now 49, has remained engaged with the Bravo world. She often weighs in on the ongoing drama both on and off the screen through her podcast, The Rick and Kelly Show.
Recently, Kelly appeared on Teresa Giudice’s podcast, Turning The Tables By Teresa Giudice, where the two reality stars dove into a range of topics about the Real Housewives franchise and the network that produces it.
When Teresa asked Kelly why she thought Andy Cohen fired her, Kelly replied, “I don’t think he fired me [because] he wanted to fire me. I think Bravo and Evolution [the production company] wanted to fire me. I think he probably had some say, but Andy and I have always had a good rapport with each other.”
She went on to express her admiration for Andy, saying, “I think he’s an awesome person. I like him.”
The conversation then shifted to the recent lawsuits and accusations aimed at Andy Cohen and Bravo. Kelly defended the network, stating, “And when that Leah McSweeney came on, I’m like, ‘they don’t ever force you to drink. They don’t force you to do anything on these shows.’ He texted me and said, ‘Thank you for sticking up for me.’”
Kelly also made her stance on the lawsuits clear, adding, “Because I cannot stand Brandi Glanville, and I cannot stand that Leah McSweeney. I just, you know, like I’m team Andy Cohen on that.”
Through her candid comments, Kelly Dodd has made it clear where her loyalties lie, defending her former boss amidst the ongoing controversies while reiterating her own opinions about the drama-filled world of Bravo.
