RHOSLC Alum Jen Shah’s Prison Sentence Reduced Again – Discover Her Updated Release Date
Jen Shah’s prison sentence has been reduced once again, marking the second time her term has been shortened.
Nearly a year and a half after the 51-year-old former Real Housewives of Salt Lake City star was sentenced to six and a half years in prison for conspiring to commit wire fraud, her sentence has been further cut down by several more months. Following an initial one-year reduction, records obtained by E! News on October 10 reveal that Jen’s term was recently reduced by an additional eight months. This means she is now scheduled to be released from Bryan Federal Prison Camp in Texas on December 19, 2027.
Fans of RHOSLC will remember that Jen was arrested in March 2021 after being accused of running a telemarketing scheme that preyed on senior citizens. Initially, she maintained her innocence. However, as her trial approached, Jen changed her plea and admitted guilt in July 2022, acknowledging, “I knew it was wrong.”
“Many people were harmed, and I’m so sorry,” she expressed.
Since being incarcerated in February 2023, Jen has not appeared on RHOSLC since season three. Nevertheless, her Instagram account has been updated occasionally. At one point, she addressed the rumors surrounding Heather Gay, 50, and the infamous black eye incident.
“BRAVO, if I punched Heather in her eye, you guys would have footage to prove it,” Jen remarked. “It’s clear the show can’t live without me since I was brought up at the beginning, middle[,] and end of season 4.”
Jen even went so far as to threaten legal action against Bravo for defamation related to the accusations, refusing to participate in a sit-down interview with Andy Cohen, 56, regarding her fraud case.
“I understand that emotions are high right now as a lot of misinformation is being spread maliciously due to a decision made back in January 2023,” Jen’s representative explained at the time. “That decision was to not proceed with a 1:1 interview [with Andy].”
Her rep further clarified: “It’s important to set the record straight as Jen closes the door on this toxic relationship with the network and production company. The 1:1 interview would [have] taken place in her home, where they would have discussed the specifics of her case and her relationships with the other ladies on the show. However, due to the holidays and her looming sentencing date, Jen chose to prioritize her family and follow the advice of her legal counsel. That is why she did not attend the Salt Lake City Season 3 reunion.”
The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City season five airs Wednesdays at 9/8c on Bravo.
