RHONY Recap: Sai Unveils Brynn’s Menacing Texts to the Group, Brynn Probes Rebecca About Scientology, Erin Confronts Abe Over Concealed Financial Problems & Apologizes to Brynn, Plus Jenna Splurges on a Bentley as the Ladies Escape to The Hamptons
The aftermath of Brynn’s party is still rippling through the group on this episode of The Real Housewives of New York City. Erin is attempting to patch things up with Brynn, but Sai is still waiting for her chance to clear the air. Meanwhile, Erin is juggling not only friendship drama but also her mother’s recent cancer diagnosis and some unresolved marital issues with Abe. Hopefully, the upcoming trip out east will offer some relief — regardless of whether they arrive by Bentley or helicopter!
Erin’s Show of Solidarity
Erin’s mother has been diagnosed with cancer, and in a heartfelt gesture of solidarity, Erin has decided to cut her hair to the same length as her mom’s, standing with her through this difficult time. Ubah joins Erin and her mother on a trip to a wig shop, showing her unwavering support. As Erin’s mother tries on wigs, Erin opens up about how much Brynn has been damaging friendships lately. She wonders if Brynn even realizes that her mother is ill, given her relentless behavior.
But at least there’s some relief: Jenna reassures Erin that Brynn’s antics haven’t affected their friendship. Erin suspects that Brynn’s Uber comment to Jenna stems from an incident in Anguilla last year, when Jenna opened up about her financial struggles. Erin believes this has stuck in Brynn’s mind and explains her tendency to twist stories. Maybe it’s just time for the ladies to accept that Brynn has a habit of changing the narrative.
Abe’s Betrayal
When Ubah asks about Abe, Erin gets emotional, revealing that some decisions Abe made recently were kept from her. She feels betrayed, especially now when she needs him the most as she navigates her mother’s illness. However, the full details of this betrayal remain unclear for now.
Sai’s Hurt and Brynn’s Silence
Meanwhile, Sai is seeking advice from Jenna about high schools in New York, all while trying to avoid reigniting the anger she felt at Brynn’s party. During the party, Sai lost her cool when she found out that Brynn had claimed Sai hated Jenna. Jenna, however, pointed out that Brynn wasn’t the only one saying such things — others had spread the same rumors. Sai is hurt by Brynn’s actions, especially given their history. “Even if I did say that, that’s f*cked up,” Sai notes, clearly upset that Brynn would betray her.
The bigger issue is that Brynn is avoiding any confrontation. Sai tried to reach out, texting Brynn to say her feelings were hurt, but Brynn left her on read, a passive-aggressive move that Sai interprets as a huge “FU.” She points out that Brynn has a history of acting mean, but when Sai reacts, it’s suddenly a big deal. Sai even recalls a text where Brynn referred to herself as “carbon monoxide, the silent killer,” an analogy that Sai finds all too fitting.
Brynn and Erin’s Tense Reunion
Later, we get a glimpse of Brynn’s passive-aggressive nature in action. In a not-so-subtle move, Brynn serves Erin a glass of tap water — a gesture Erin interprets as the ultimate insult. Upon entering Brynn’s apartment, Erin is greeted coolly, and after noticing Erin’s new haircut, Brynn casually quips, “Going through sh*t so you hadda cut your hair.” If only Brynn had taken a moment to ask, she would have learned that Erin cut her hair in support of her mother’s battle with cancer.
Erin begins the conversation by apologizing, but Brynn’s response is condescending. Brynn questions why Sai intervened during their last argument and insists that she’s never screamed at a friend in public. Erin reminds her of the “carbon monoxide” comment and tries to smooth things over, explaining that she is always authentic. Ironically, having to state one’s authenticity rarely goes over well.
Erin admits that she should have stopped Jeff Lewis sooner during their podcast, prompting Brynn to throw in a dig: “This isn’t like Staten Island,” a comment that deeply offends Erin, a proud New Yorker. Despite the tension, Erin makes an emotional apology, explaining how much she’s been going through with her mother’s illness. Brynn, softening, apologizes for creating drama between Erin and Jenna. She admits that her actions were a knee-jerk reaction to Jenna’s comment about forgiving Erin too quickly.
In a surprising turn, Brynn outs herself for serving Erin tap water, and the two make up.
Jenna’s Family Time and Abe’s Secret Sale
Meanwhile, Jenna spends some quality time with her son Beckett before he heads off to college. The pair bond over a rock climbing session, though Jenna’s rock climbing skills leave much to be desired. Afterwards, they discuss his future, and Jenna encourages him to follow his dreams, even if that means moving far away. Her segment ends with a 2024 Bentley hybrid arriving, proving Jenna has no financial worries.
Later, Erin and Abe enjoy a dinner date where Erin reveals that things with Brynn are finally settled. She also shares her excitement for their upcoming Hamptons trip, even though the house is still under construction. But the conversation takes a turn when Erin confronts Abe about selling their Bitcoin without her knowledge. This secret sale has shocked and hurt Erin, especially since she wasn’t aware of the financial strain they were under.
Abe explains that he needed to settle debts from his previous business but didn’t tell Erin because he didn’t want to add to her stress. However, Erin makes it clear that she needs honesty from him moving forward.
Planning the Hamptons Trip
As the group gears up for the Hamptons trip, Ubah and Sai plan to drive together, claiming they prefer road trips over the helicopter ride with Brynn, Rebecca, and Jessel. But there’s an underlying tension as Ubah calls Brynn a manipulator, noting that she seems to enjoy stirring the pot and causing conflict.
Brynn, on the other hand, claims she doesn’t want to fight anymore, though her actions say otherwise. When she and Rebecca take the helicopter, Brynn wastes no time bringing up sensitive topics, asking Rebecca how she should respond if people question her about Scientology. Rebecca, clearly uncomfortable, suggests saying “No comment,” but Brynn is skeptical that such a response will satisfy the media.
The drama, as always, is far from over.
