Reinventing Her Image: Teresa Giudice Reflects on Being a “Table Flipper,” Regrets Over Iconic RHONJ Moment, and Her Evolving Legacy—Plus Insights on How House of Villains Enhanced Her Villainous Side and Her Strategy for Season 2!
In a recent interview, Teresa Giudice reflected on one of her most iconic moments from The Real Housewives of New Jersey, addressing her infamous table-flipping scene, her legacy, and her time filming House of Villains season two. At 52, Teresa admitted the experience made her “more villainous,” but she’s not a fan of being labeled as the “table flipper” despite its lasting impact.
“When my husband [Luis Ruelas] meets people, they say, ‘Hey, you’re married to the table flipper.’ I don’t want to be known as that, but they love it,” Teresa told Us Weekly on October 1.
While Teresa doesn’t enjoy the label, she holds no regrets about her altercation with Danielle Staub, 62, in season one.
“I’m a passionate person. I’m Italian, and I reacted just how I felt at that moment. I remember after it aired, they showed it at the Emmys that year. I was at home watching TV, and I came on. I was like, ‘Wow,’” Teresa recalled.
However, immediately after the incident, she confessed to feeling “upset.”
“[I] thought, ‘Oh my God, what did I do?’ I was calling the producers, and meanwhile, they were jumping up and down,” she said. “I don’t normally act like that. I got angry because she was attacking my friend. I regretted what I did, but it ended up being so iconic.”
Another standout memory for Teresa was her trip to Italy during season two, which she looks back on fondly.
“My Italy trip, because Adriana was 8 months old, and my parents were there; I would love to watch that,” she shared.
When she’s not starring on her own show, Teresa enjoys watching TV with her family.
“I love hanging out as a family with my daughters and Louis, getting our favorite snacks while we binge-watch shows,” she revealed.
After 14 seasons of reality television, Teresa hopes her legacy will be remembered for her authenticity.
“Just that I was my authentic, real self. And I hope everyone enjoyed me,” she said.
During a separate interview promoting House of Villains with co-stars Wes Bergmann, 40, and Safaree, 43, Teresa opened up about her “villainous” side, explaining that she’s only a villain when provoked.
“Hanging out with these two in a house, I became more villainous being around them,” she confessed.
Initially, Teresa viewed Wes as a major threat due to his strategic nature and success on MTV’s The Challenge.
“He definitely knows how to play the game, and he’s definitely strategic,” she shared. “At first, I was like, ‘I’m not going to vibe with this guy,’ because I like friendly people. He wasn’t friendly at first. It took him a little while to warm up, but then I have to say, he became a Housewife.”
Despite her initial reservations, Teresa admitted she “learned a lot” from Wes, though her strategy was to intimidate those she felt she needed to.
“I only threatened certain people that I knew I had to. It went by the vibe,” she explained. “That was my strategy.”
Tiffany “New York” Pollard, 42, also spoke about her experience clashing with Teresa, saying it was “amazing.”
“If I’m going to go against any other community, it’s going to be Jersey,” she joked. “I mean, New York meets New Jersey. Jersey, meet New York.”
Tiffany knew Teresa would be a formidable opponent going into the show.
“She’s a veteran. She’s been in the business a very long time. And it was fun clashing with her,” Tiffany said. “She’s a good sport.”
Season two of House of Villains is currently airing on E!
