Dirty Play: Monique Samuels Accuses RHOP Producers of Shielding Gizelle Bryant While Ignoring Her Kids

Monique Samuels, a former fan-favorite on The Real Housewives of Potomac (RHOP), has made it clear she has no plans to return to the show. Known for her fiery personality and unforgettable reunion binder, Samuels has recently opened up about the behind-the-scenes dynamics that ultimately drove her to leave the series after Season 5.

A Rocky Departure

Samuels first joined RHOP in Season 2 and quickly became a beloved cast member. However, her time on the show was marred by controversy, including a physical altercation with castmate Candiace Dillard Bassett during Season 5. Following the incident, Samuels exited the series, citing frustration with the way production handled certain cast members’ behavior—particularly that of Gizelle Bryant.

In a recent interview, Samuels addressed fan speculation about her potential return to the show, especially after Dillard Bassett’s departure following Season 8. Samuels firmly shut down the idea, explaining that the issues she faced during her time on RHOP went far beyond on-camera drama.

The Infamous Binder and Hidden Footage

Samuels brought up the explosive reunion where she unveiled a binder filled with receipts, many of which targeted Gizelle Bryant. While the moment became iconic among fans, Samuels revealed that much of what happened during filming never made it to air.

“They didn’t show half of what was done,” Samuels explained. “To this day, I still recall certain things that happened that weren’t shown.”

One particularly glaring omission, according to Samuels, involved her husband, Chris Samuels. She recounted that after her binder reveal, Bryant became noticeably shaken and fell silent. Chris then confronted Bryant, leading to an explosive outburst.

“She was so upset, and she was so quiet after lunch,” Samuels said. “Chris came out and pretty much read her. She lost it and blurted out, ‘F you.’ And they never showed it. She lost it!”

Claims of Production Bias

Samuels didn’t mince words when discussing the favoritism she felt production showed toward certain cast members, particularly Bryant. “They were constantly protecting the people who shouldn’t have been protected,” she said, adding that producers prioritized keeping Bryant happy and under their control.

What frustrated Samuels even more was the lack of protection for her own family. “They kept these protections for people without protecting my innocent children,” she stated. This, she said, was the final straw that led to her departure.

Life After RHOP

Since leaving the show, Samuels has focused on her family and new ventures, including hosting a successful morning show. Though fans continue to call for her return, Samuels remains adamant that she won’t rejoin the cast as long as certain dynamics remain unchanged.

For viewers who miss her no-nonsense approach and bold personality, Samuels’ time on RHOP from Seasons 2 through 5 remains a testament to her undeniable impact on the franchise.
