The Truth Behind GnA’s Pivot: Why Gizelle and Ashley Are Ditching Fashion for Community Wellness?

Season 8 of The Real Housewives of Potomac introduced audiences to the launch of GnA, an athleisure brand created by Ashley Darby and Gizelle Bryant. However, as Season 9 unfolds, the two stars have decided to shift their business focus from fashion to a comprehensive wellness initiative, aiming to promote community health and raise social awareness.

A Strategic Change

GnA initially centered around apparel, offering tank tops, hats, socks, and T-shirts. However, during an exclusive interview with The Daily Dish on November 12, Ashley Darby revealed the brand’s expanded vision.

“We’re redefining what wellness means. Initially, we focused on apparel, but now we want to emphasize community engagement, social activism, and advocacy. That’s why we decided to transition into GnA Fusion,” Ashley explained.

From Fashion to a Social Mission

While they haven’t entirely abandoned their apparel line, Ashley shared that producing clothing is no longer their main priority. “Apparel production is costly, and both of us are navigating transitions in our lives right now, so we’re not ready to invest the required capital at this moment. But we’ll revisit it in the future,” she stated.

Instead, GnA is focusing on organizing wellness events and collaborating with nonprofit organizations and local businesses. These events incorporate fitness and educational components, encouraging participants to explore the multifaceted meaning of health and strive to become “the best version of themselves.”

Supporting Social Causes

One of GnA Fusion’s primary goals is to support organizations like the National Brain Tumor Society, a cause close to Gizelle’s heart following the passing of her father, Curtis Graves, in 2023 after a brief battle with brain cancer. This was also the focus of their fundraising efforts during the Season 9 premiere.

“We’re connecting with local vendors and entrepreneurs in Washington, D.C., who not only sponsor and donate funds but also contribute their time and services to our events,” Ashley elaborated.

The Future of GnA Fusion

GnA Fusion has evolved into more than just a business—it’s becoming a holistic wellness movement with a strong emphasis on social impact. “Health isn’t just about appearances; it’s about feeling good from within. We want to build a sustainable model that inspires people to live better every day,” Ashley affirmed.

The Real Housewives of Potomac Season 9 is currently airing on Bravo every Sunday and is available for streaming on Peacock.
