In a recent episode of The Real Housewives of Potomac, Mia Thornton surprised fans by sharing an unexpected story about a “butt dial” involving her co-star Karen Huger, hinting at potential infidelity in Huger’s marriage. During an interview on Page Six’s “Virtual Reali-Tea” podcast, Thornton explained her reasoning behind the reveal, citing a mix of emotions and circumstances that led her to spill the story during a cast trip to Lake Norman, North Carolina. “It just felt fitting for the time,” Thornton, 39, shared, clarifying that the revelation was unplanned.

Thornton’s motivation to share the story was fueled by two main factors. First, her friend Joy, who was present during a night out with Karen in 2021, joined the group’s dinner and could verify the account. Second, Karen’s ongoing tension with Thornton’s childhood friend, Jacqueline Blake, reached a tipping point when Karen repeatedly accused Blake of dishonesty. Thornton admitted, “She had spent the entire day coming after my girl… and I felt like she was trying to accuse Jacqueline of lying.”

The “butt dial” incident supposedly revealed Karen telling her friends she was not with her husband Ray Huger during a night out. Karen has since denied any recollection of making the call, but Thornton and co-star Gizelle Bryant insist that Karen has a history of such “drunk calls.” In a preview for the following episode, Ashley Darby shared that she believes Thornton and Joy’s account, adding, “The streets have been alive with some of Karen’s forays.”

Karen, who recently admitted to some marital tension with Ray following a DUI arrest, expressed gratitude for his support. She acknowledged they were working on their marriage, noting that “Ray has my back… but we’re human, and we are going through it.” Since the arrest, both Thornton and Bryant confirmed that Karen has been more cautious with her phone calls, seemingly curbing her alleged habit of “drunk dialing.”

Reflecting on the dynamic with Karen, Gizelle joked that she misses the unpredictable calls: “You never know what you’re going to hear,” she said. Meanwhile, Karen’s DUI case remains ongoing as her legal team seeks dismissal, though prosecutors have opposed the motion.
