Late-Night Secrets: Gizelle Bryant Misses Karen Huger’s ‘Drunk Calls’ Amid DUI Controversy

The cast of The Real Housewives of Potomac (RHOP) hasn’t held back from discussing Karen Huger’s recent DUI incident, with Gizelle Bryant leading the conversation by sharing her thoughts on Karen’s actions. Known for her sharp commentary, Gizelle joked about Karen’s history of making “drunk calls” at 3 a.m., saying that these calls have become a staple of their friendship, even as Karen deals with legal issues.

Since her DUI arrest earlier this year, Karen Huger has cut back on her infamous late-night “drunk calls” to Gizelle Bryant — something Gizelle admits she actually misses. “I really miss them,” Gizelle joked, emphasizing that those late-night calls truly brought a lot of fun.

Season 9 of RHOP premiered on October 6, opening with Gizelle visiting Karen to check in on her friend. In early March, Karen was charged with DUI following a car accident involving her Maserati, just a few miles from her home. Although Karen has kept most details about the incident private, her reputation for drunk dialing has remained a hot topic among the cast members.

Gizelle shared with Page Six: “We get a lot of three o’clock in the morning drunk calls from Karen. You never know what you’re going to hear; you never know what she’s going to say.”

In an October 27 episode, Mia Thornton revealed that Karen had “butt-dialed” her after a night out in D.C., suggesting that Karen might have been with another man. Mia claimed she could hear a man’s voice on the call, sparking rumors about Karen’s alleged past fling with her “driver,” known among the cast as “Blue Eyes.”

Gizelle, however, dismissed the speculation, saying, “I think we’ve moved past Blue Eyes.”

Despite the drama, Gizelle praised Karen’s husband, Ray Huger, for his unwavering support. “Ray is always extremely supportive of her,” she said, adding, “I’m glad she has him by her side.”

Recently, Karen also addressed the DUI chatter, expressing disappointment on Watch What Happens Live about her castmates discussing her legal issues. In July, Karen asked a judge to dismiss the case, but prosecutors opposed the motion, and a final ruling has yet to be made.

The Real Housewives of Potomac airs Sundays at 8/7c on Bravo.
