‘Real Housewives of New York City’ Too Boring To Keep Mary Cosby’s Attention ‘I Fell Asleep’

Mary Cosby didn’t hold back, calling The Real Housewives of New York City so boring that it literally put her to sleep.

The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City star Mary Cosby opened up on Watch What Happens Live about her husband Robert Cosby Sr.‘s absence from the show, as well as some of the latest drama on RHOSLC. Mary touched on everything from Robert’s grudge against Bravo to her thoughts on other housewives, her son’s current situation, and even Heather Gay’s weight loss transformation.

Robert Cosby Sr. Is Holding a Grudge Against Bravo

During her appearance on Watch What Happens Live, Mary Cosby revealed why her husband, Robert Cosby Sr., has stepped back from filming for The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City. According to Mary, Robert has some unresolved feelings about his experience with the network.

“He’s good. He’s really good. He’s a man and they hold grudges,” Mary explained, adding, “Once he gets over his grudge-holding, he’ll be better and he’ll probably show his face more.”

Host Andy Cohen, known for his close relationships with Bravo stars, directly asked, “Is he holding a grudge towards us?”

“Yes,” Mary confirmed. “Not you in particular, just how he was treated. But not you, Andy, he loves you. He just doesn’t trust [the producers]. He doesn’t want them to give him bad press.”

This explanation sheds light on Robert’s decision to distance himself from the show, while making it clear that his issue isn’t with Andy but with how the producers have portrayed him in the past.

Mary’s Thoughts on Other Real Housewives Franchises

Although Mary is a fixture on RHOSLC, she hasn’t spent much time watching other Real Housewives shows. When asked about it, Mary admitted that she’s still catching up but found it difficult to stay engaged while watching The Real Housewives of New York City.

“I’m working on it,” she said. “I watched [RHONY] recently, but I fell asleep, only because it was almost over I think. No offense.”

Her candid response hinted that she might not be fully invested in the other franchises just yet, but she’s trying to get there.

Meredith Marks vs. Whitney Rose Drama

The tension between RHOSLC cast members Meredith Marks and Whitney Rose escalated this season when Meredith brought up rumors surrounding Whitney’s business, Prism. Fans speculated that the move was an act of retaliation, and Andy asked Mary for her thoughts on the situation.

“Yeah, probably. I don’t know but if I had to think of that, probably yeah,” Mary shared, leaving room for speculation about Meredith’s motivations.

Mary also expressed hope that the rumors Meredith spread, which referenced allegations involving Alibaba, were untrue. This marked another dramatic moment in a season already filled with confrontations.

Heather Gay’s Transformation and Whitney Rose’s Growth

Mary participated in a fun round of rapid-fire questions about her castmates. When asked about Heather Gay’s physical transformation, Mary was full of compliments but made it clear she appreciated Heather before and after her weight loss.

“She looks great. But I liked her both ways,” Mary responded.

As for Whitney Rose, who had previously clashed with Mary and her husband, Mary acknowledged Whitney’s growth, particularly after Whitney apologized to both her and Robert Sr.

“She apologized to Robert Sr. and I for everything she said, and she meant it, and I feel like that’s growth,” Mary said.

Updates on Robert Jr. and Her Church

Mary provided a personal update on her son, Robert Cosby Jr., who has recently been in rehab for substance abuse issues. While things are looking up for him, Mary admitted there’s still work to be done.

“He’s good,” she said, but added, “He’s not soaring and flying out of the nest yet.”

In addition to her family, Mary shared that she’s deeply missing her church, which has been undergoing a remodel. She revealed that the renovation is nearly complete, saying, “It’s almost done, we’re doing the seats right now, but once the seats are finished, we’ll be done.”

No Prenup for Mary and Robert Sr.

Later in the show, during the WWHL After Show, Mary was asked about her thoughts on fellow Bravo star Bronwyn Windham-Burke’s lack of a prenuptial agreement and whether she herself has one with Robert Sr.

“No, I do not have a prenup, and no, I’m not surprised [Bronwyn doesn’t have one],” Mary responded, explaining that she felt Bronwyn’s decision was likely based on love at the time. “A prenup just kind of puts that little hesitant, like, ‘Don’t take my money,’ type of thing, and I just feel like he didn’t feel like she would do that.”
