Revealing Text from RHONY Star About Co-Star’s Husband Uncovered!

Sai De Silva, star of The Real Housewives of New York City, recently clarified that a comment she made about her co-star’s husband was taken out of context during the season 15 premiere. The drama unfolded when Brynn Whitfield read aloud a harsh text De Silva had written about Jessel Taank’s husband, Pavit Randhawa. The digital creator quickly took to Instagram on October 3, 2024, to provide her side of the story.

“I’ve received so many messages about the text Brynn read on the show,” De Silva explained in a video on her Instagram story. “I just want to give some context because that message was completely without context.”

De Silva continued, “First of all, I was incredibly mad. And when I’m mad, I have a terrible mouth. It can be very lethal, but I’ve been keeping it PG lately. The truth is, Jessel and I were fighting last year, and this message is from then. Since that time, we’ve made up and moved on. The message wasn’t behind her back—it was in a group chat where Jessel saw it too. I wasn’t hiding anything. But I’ve apologized since, and Jessel and I are in a great place now. I love Jessel.”

De Silva further expressed confusion about why the message was even brought up on the show, adding, “I really don’t know why it was read. It shouldn’t have been.”

Sai De Silva’s Controversial “Finding Nemo” Comparison

During the premiere episode, titled Apple of My Eye, tensions reached a boiling point. A fight erupted between Whitfield and several of her co-stars as they recounted an awkward night at Jenna Lyons’ house. In the middle of the argument, Whitfield called out De Silva, exclaiming, “The night was weird because you called her husband a name!”

In response, De Silva fired back, calling Whitfield a “gaslighting narcissist” and adding, “You are unwell, Brynn. Not today, Satan.”

In a confessional, Whitfield read the controversial text aloud, which included De Silva’s now-infamous insult toward Taank’s husband. The message read, “[Expletive] you Jessel, and your ‘Finding Nemo’ lookalike husband too.” The “Finding Nemo” reference was a nod to the character Dory, a blue fish voiced by Ellen DeGeneres in the 2003 animated film.

Despite the resurfacing of the insult, De Silva clarified in another confessional that she and Jessel had moved past the incident and were on good terms.

Fan Reactions to the Drama

As the episode aired, fans quickly reacted on social media. Some criticized Whitfield for digging up drama from the previous year, with one fan commenting, “They were beefing last year, so why bring it up now? Typical messy Brynn.” Others pointed out that regardless of the timing, De Silva did, in fact, make the remark. “But girl…you said it,” one commenter remarked.

Husband Insults: A Housewives Tradition

Insulting each other’s husbands is hardly new territory for the Real Housewives franchise. Over the years, housewives across various cities have hurled plenty of jabs not just at their co-stars but also at their spouses. In 2010, during the first season of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, Camille Grammer notoriously insulted Kyle Richards’ husband, Mauricio Umansky, by comparing him to her then-husband, actor Kelsey Grammer. “In terms of pecking order, my husband is higher on the list,” Camille remarked, calling Mauricio a “local Beverly Hills realtor.”

More recently, on The Real Housewives of New Jersey, Jennifer Aydin caused a stir when she body-shamed Danielle Cabral’s husband during a heated argument in the season finale. Referring to Cabral’s spouse, Aydin said, “You’ve got the husband with the boobs.” The scene nearly escalated into a brawl. Aydin later explained her comment on the AllAboutTRH podcast, noting that it was a spur-of-the-moment comeback in response to insults about her own marriage. “I didn’t mean to insult her husband,” Aydin clarified. “He was the last thing on my mind. It was just a quick rebuttal.”

The Aftermath

While husband insults have long been part of Real Housewives culture, Sai De Silva’s “Finding Nemo” remark seems to have struck a chord with viewers. But as the drama unfolds on screen, De Silva insists that she and Jessel have moved on from the incident. Only time will tell how this resurfaced drama impacts the dynamics of the RHONY cast as the season continues.
